How to Buy Your LTA Identification Mark Online

UPDATE [6 Aug 2019]: The PMD safety certification deadline has been moved forward to July 2020. All non-UL2272 certified devices will be auto-deregistered and cannot be used in public after July 2020. Users can continue to ride only UL2272 certified PMDs beyond the July 2020 deadline.

You recently bought yourself a new electric scooter. Now, time to get it registered under the LTA e-scooter registration scheme.

From 2 January 2019 onwards, all e-scooter owners have to register their devices with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) – regardless of the make, model, or whether your e-scooter is UL2272-certified or not.

Registration is pretty straightforward. The tough part is what happens after. What’s on many people’s minds, we have observed, is:

How and where can I buy my LTA Identification Mark online?

Online Registration

To ensure a smooth registration process, make sure you have photographs of your e-scooter ready to go. Prepare these in advance:

• For all e-scooter owners: A soft copy colour photograph of your e-scooter (make sure the entire device is in shot)

• For owners of UL2272-certified electric scooters: A soft copy colour photograph of the UL2272 certification mark on your device

Next Steps (at a glance):

2) Write your personal details & add in the details of your electric scooter

 

3) Declare that your e-scooter is LTA-approved* & UL2272-certified**

** Only if you own an e-scooter model that carries the UL2272 certification. Presently, the Segway-Ninebot ES2 is the only UL2272-certified escooter in Singapore.

4) Register for free by 31 March 2019***

*** Come 1 April 2019, there will be a $20 LTA registration fee. So register now!

5)Find your unique e-scooter registration number on the payment receipt

6) The LTA registration mark will be mailed to you

A reminder: both your LTA registration sticker and identification marks must be pasted on your e-scooter within 14 days from the registration date.
