Birdy: The Ultimate Performance Foldable Bike
The Birdy performance folding bike was first designed in 1993 by Markus Riese and Heiko Müller in Germany. Birdy is manufactured in Taiwan by Pacific Cycles. At Mighty Velo, we offer six Birdy bike models and four other fully customised Birdy X Joseph Kuosac JK11 Titanium models to choose.
For different riding and lifestyle needs, Birdy offers a minimum of eight speeds to a maximum of 24 speeds. Unlike any other folding bike brands, Birdy boasts of a strong monocoque aluminium frame, with both front and rear suspension and different types of bike tyres for various terrains. History
In 1992, cycling enthusiasts Markus Riese and Heiko Müller designed a bicycle with suspension pivots doubling as folding mechanisms, creating the “Birdy,” known for its smooth ride. Their award-winning prototype gained attention in Germany.
In 1994, Taiwanese entrepreneur George Lin of Pacific Cycles invited them to Taiwan to develop the Birdy. The Gen 1 Birdy launched in Germany in 1995, and today, Birdy bikes with monocoque frames are sold worldwide, meeting all needs.
